The Kiwanis Club of Allentown currently sponsors seven Service Leadership Programs:
Key Clubs at William Allen, Allentown Central Catholic, and Salisbury High Schools;
Builders Clubs at Raub and South Mountain Middle Schools;
K-Kids Clubs at Ramos and Washington Elementary Schools.
Our Key Clubs assist us every year with our annual picnic for pre-school children from Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers (LVCC), and our annual Christmas Party for LVCC children. The Raub Builders Club has done a variety of service projects for their school, including picking up trash around the school property and creating gift baskets for school staff appreciation days. The Washington K-Kids Club has raised funds for “Pennies for Patients”, held a pretzel sale to benefit a local homeless shelter and animal shelter, and read books to the school’s first grade students. Ramos Elementary School takes it’s name from Luis A. Ramos who was a leader in the Allentown community and a member of our club.
