All day: 2022 Holiday Hope Chests
All day
Holiday Hope Chests! Our November Service Project will be for us to once again participate in the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley's Holiday Hope Chest gift drive. For those not familiar with this program, participants fill shoeboxes with small toys, arts supplies, clothing, school items, etc. then wrap them and donate them to a wide variety of organizations that serve children in the Lehigh Valley. It is a fun and easy way to brighten the holidays for disadvantaged children.
The first step is for you to volunteer to provide Holiday Hope Chests to one or more children in an age/gender group. Attached is a document with suggestions about appropriate gift items. As has been the case in previous years, when you have completed your Hope Chests, you can drop them off at my house or bring them to our November 10 dinner meeting. Or I can arrange to pick them up for you. I plan to deliver all of our boxes to the drop-off site on Thursday, December 1.
Here is a listing of the age and gender groups:
HHC Gift Suggestion Sheet 2022 Please let Tom Harp know what the age/gender group (s) you would like to shop for. There is no rush in finishing your boxes as long as he gets them by December 1. |
